1975–76 European Cup

The European Champions' Cup 1975/76 was the 21st edition of the contest. 32 club teams participated, including 31 national champion of the previous season with Bayern Munich and the defending champion, who finished only 10th place in the Bundesliga. As Endspielort UEFA chose the Hampden Park in Glasgow on 12 May 1976.

The participants played in the Cup mode with pure (except for the final) round-trip games for the crown of European club football. In Torgleichstand first counted the greater number of away goals scored; there was also this a tie, the second leg was extended and, if necessary, immediately then discharged a penalty shootout to decide.

First round

The first legs took place on 16-17. and 21 (Nicosia vs. Akranes ) September, the return legs on 28 September ( vs. Akranes. Nicosia) and 1st of October 1975.

2nd round

The first legs took place on November 5, 1975 October 22, the return games.


The first legs were held on March 17, 1976 March 5, the return games.


The first legs were held on March 31, the return legs on April 14th place in 1976.
