1975 AFC Women's Championship

The first Asian Cup Women was held in the period from 25 August to 3 September 1975 in Hong Kong. It was the first continental soccer championship of women. With Australia and New Zealand, two teams took part, which at the time were not members of the AFC. Winner New Zealand was a 3-1 victory over Thailand.

Mode

There were no qualifiers, all six teams entered directly took part in the tournament. The six teams were divided into two groups of three. Within the preliminary groups, each team plays once against each other. The group winners and runners reach the semifinals. The semi-final winners reach the finals, the semi-final losers play for third place.
