1976–77 Nationale A season
The 1976/77 season was the 55th season of the National A, the highest French Hockey League. Champion for the first time in club history at all of the Gap Hockey Club. The Diables Rouges de Briançon and the Club des lyonnais patineurs descended to the second division.
Mode
The ten teams each completed 18 games. The winner of the main round was champion. The two last placed athlete had to compete against the top two teams of the second division in the relegation. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
