1977 European Cup (athletics)

The 6th Athletics European Cup - A-final took place in the Olympic Stadium of Helsinki ( Finland) on 13 and 14 August 1977.

Were wearing 35 disciplines ( 20 men, 15 women). In the women's 3000 -meter run and the 400 meter hurdles were new to the program.

The new B- finals for men and women should be the third - and fourth- placed teams from the semifinals offer the opportunity to qualify for the A-final.

Doping

The competitions were characterized by four doping cases, three of them in the Finnish men's team.

B-final

The B - final of the women found in Trinec (Czechoslovakia now Czech Republic ) and the men on 6 and 7 August 1977 in Gothenburg ( Sweden).
