1978–79 Czechoslovak Extraliga season

The season 1978/79 1st League was the 36th regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. Mode

As in the previous season the league was played with twelve teams. Since each team fought out against each group opponent each two home and away games, the total number of matches per team was 44 games. The last placed the table descended into the national championship.

Top scorer

Vladimír Martinec is the only player who has completed more than 44 games since he joined the club after 21 match day. Until 30 November, he played for Dukla Jihlava officially, but since Tesla Pardubice had to perform an early game of the 26th game day before this date, Martinec has already been used in this.

Best scorer of the league was Vladimír Martinec, who scored 42 goals in a total of 45 games. Top scorer was the Slovak Marián Šťastný, who collected 74 points scorer in 40 games.
