1978–79 Irish Cup

The Irish Cup 1978/79 was the 99th edition of the Northern Ireland football cup competition. The first games were held on 3 February 1979 the final on 28 April 1979.

Cliftonville FC won for the first time since the 1908/ 09 season the title. It was the seventh success in the club's history.
