1978 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The matches of the 2nd World Youth Championship in 1978 found in the period 22 December 1977 to 3 January 1978 in Chicoutimi, Cornwall, Hull, Quebec City and Montreal, Canada. Junior World Champion for the second time the team of the USSR. The team from Switzerland dismounted.
Mode
Approved players were under 20 years old (U -20). It was attended by eight teams who competed in two groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group qualified for the Masters Round, the fief in first and second place in the final against each other. The four remaining teams played in the relegation round of the single relegated.
