1979 African Championships in Athletics

The first track and Africa Championships in 1979 at the Stade Demba Diop held in the Senegalese capital Dakar.

Decisions were made in 23 disciplines for men and 16 for women disciplines. It was attended by 251 athletes from 24 countries participate.
