1979 Copa Libertadores
The Copa Libertadores 1979 was the 20th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 21 teams took part. It took the national champions of CONMEBOL countries and the second part respectively. The participants completed titleholder CA Boca Juniors. The tournament began on 24 February and ended on 27 July 1979 with the final second leg. The Paraguayan representatives Club Olimpia won the final against CA Boca Juniors and won the Copa Libertadores for the first time.
