1980 OFC Nations Cup

The football Ozeanienmeisterschaft 1980 ( engl.: OFC Nations Cup ) was the second playout of an oceanic continental championship in football after seven years break and took place from February 24 to March 3, 1980 in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory, instead. All matches were played at the Stade de Magenta in Noumea. At eight teams participated in this tournament. How 1973 Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, New Hebrides (now Vanuatu), Tahiti and the first time in Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. It was played in two groups a four team. The two group winners qualify for the finals, the two runners-up for the match for third place.
