1981 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships

The matches of the 5th Junior A World Championship in 1981, took place until January 2, 1981 at Allgäu, Germany in the period from 27 December 1980. The B group was in Strasbourg, France, played out. World cup

The A- group of the Junior World Championship was held in Kaufbeuren, Augsburg, Fussen, Landsberg, Kempten and Oberstdorf.

Mode

Approved players were under 20 years old (U -20). It was attended by eight teams who competed in two groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group qualified for the Champions round. The four remaining teams played in the relegation round of the single relegated. In the master and the relegation round games of the teams were taken from the preliminary round against their opponents.
