1982 Fischer-Grand Prix

The Fischer- Grand- Prix 1982 took place 18 to 31 October 1982 in Vienna. The field of individual petition consisted of 32 players, double that of the petition of 16 pairs. The tournament was endowed with $ 100,000.

None of the titleholder ( Ivan Lendl in singles, Steve Denton / Tim Wilkison in duplicate) stepped up to the defending champions. The individual title was secured by American Brian Gottfried, the double competition won the Frenchman Henri Leconte and the Czechoslovak Pavel Složil.
