The season was marked by the beginning balance. However, lay over the entire season, only three teams at the top: Vålerengens IF to the first five games, Bryne IL until the ninth game day and the rest of the season then Viking. It was after the completion of the first round but the first nine teams separated only four points. In the course of the season the picture changed only insignificantly. Only Viking in the meantime could settle something - to within three points - but after 19 Matchday they had only one point ahead of Lillestrøm SK and the next four teams were only three points behind Viking. As the runner-up in the recent Games schwächelten respectively, Viking, was able to secure the championship in the penultimate round.

Of the climbers Mjøndalen IF and Molde FK and Sogndal IL Mjøndalen only managed to avoid relegation.
