1983–84 ACHL season

The 1983/84 season was the third regular season of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. During the regular season, six teams should each 72 games contest, but the game plan had to be amended due to the premature, financially -related, leaving the Birmingham Bulls. In the play-offs, the Erie Golden Blades prevailed and won for the first time in their history the Bob Payne Trophy.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Virginia Raiders stopped the game operation.
  • The Birmingham Bulls were added as an expansion team in the league.
  • The Pinebridge Bucks were added as an expansion team in the league.
  • The Nashville South Stars were during the current season, according to Vinton, Virginia, moved and changed their name to Virginia Lancers.
