1983–84 Czechoslovak Extraliga season
The season 1983/84 1st League was the 41st regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With 65 points, the Army Sports Club Dukla Jihlava prevailed. For the team it was their tenth total Czechoslovak championship.
Mode
As in the previous season the league was played with twelve teams. Since each team fought out against each group opponent each two home and away games, the total number of matches per team was 44 games. Champion was the winner of the Main Round. The-table rose in contrast to the previous year is not direct, but adopted along with the winners of Season 2 league part in the qualifiers for the first league.

Best scorer of the league was Vladimír Růžička of CHZ Litvinov, who scored a total of 31 goals in 44 games.

1st League qualifier
In addition to the TJ Škoda Plzeň took part in qualifying for next season Poldi Kladno SONP and Plastika Nitra. Here, the team was made up by Plzeň with three wins and one defeat and remained so in the top division.
