1983–84 Nationale A season

The 1983/84 season was the 62nd season of the National A, the highest French Hockey League. Champion for the first time in club history in general of the Club des Sports de Megève. The Image Club d' Epinal had to withdraw from the league itself following the season for financial reasons.

Mode

The twelve teams completed in the main round for 22 games. The top eight teams qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The points from the main round were incorporated into the final round. The four last placed athlete had to play in the relegation against the three best second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.

The Hockey Club de Caen dismounted sporty but allowed its place in the National A reserve due to the financially -related withdrawal of Image Club d' Epinal.
