1983–84 Nationalliga A season

The 1983/84 season was the 46th regular hosting of the National League A, the top Swiss league in hockey. For a total of 24 times in their history of HC Davos was Swiss champion, while the Zürcher SC descent into NLB.

Mode

The season was divided into four seasonal phases, with the points all season phases were taken in each case to the next. First, the eight teams played in the first season phase in return game against any opponent. In the second season phase played the top four and the other four teams from Phase One, one below the other in return game. In the third season phase again played any team in return game against the other teams in the NLA. The top four teams from Phase Three eventually played in the final round in return game from the master, while the remaining four teams playing off also return the game relegated to the NLB with one another. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point. At a loss to give any points.
