Government regulation

1983 there was a restructuring, as the number of international competitions had increased such that the Cup had all teams gather together in a weekend. The highest level of the new cups now called Super League and consisted of eight men's and women's teams. It was followed by the 1st and 2nd league, which were each divided into group A and B. Promotion and relegation places replaced the rise by previous semi-final and final rounds. This division existed until the end of the European Cup in 2008.
