Greco-Roman
The competitions in the Greco-Roman style were held until September 25, 1983 by 22. The biggest surprise was the victory of the Finn Hannu Lahtinen. He had previously been started in any international competition and won the gold medal in Kiev. From the Soviet wrestlers who had gone to the start, only -62 kg missed Rafail Nasibulow as seventh -placed in the weight class a medal rank.
