1984–85 Czechoslovak Extraliga season

The season 1984/85 1st League was the 42nd regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With 70 points, the Army Sports Club Dukla Jihlava prevailed. For the team it was their eleventh overall Czechoslovak championship. The TJ Vitkovice got down to the second division.

Mode

As in the previous season the league was played with twelve teams. Since each team fought out against each group opponent each two home and away games, the total number of matches per team was 44 games. Champion was the winner of the Main Round. The-table had to compete as in the previous year in the first League qualifier against the winner of two national championships.

Top scorer

Top scorers of the league were together Vladimír Růžička of CHZ Litvinov and Oldrich Válek Dukla Jihlava by master who achieved a total of 38 goals respectively in 41 and 43 games. Top scorer of the league was Miroslav Ihnačák from VSZ Kosice scorer with 66 points.

1st League qualifier

The winners of the two national championships, Poldi Kladno SONP and PS Poprad played against the league last of the first league, the TJ Vitkovice to return the game to the inclusion in the first league for the following season or the league. Here, Poldi Kladno SONP sat with eight points from four wins by sovereign and rose to the first league, while the TJ Vitkovice relegation to the second division.
