Game History

The 34th final of the fdgb Football Cup was the re-release of last year's finale. Once again clashed Master (BFC ) and runner-up. Unlike last year, the Berlin had won even more poised with six points ahead of the championship. Both teams were able to compete in the last players selected formations essentially. Both coaches took a chance on the last injured player Rohde (BFC ) and fungal (Dresden) to fall back.

The first chance of the game had the BFC. From offense to fit pastor on the free-standing backs, however, with its goal hesitated too long. The Dresden countered immediately and had their part within ten minutes twice Minge and fungal good scoring chances, but were also awarded. But the team from Dresden secured the dominance on the field, waiting with the intelligierteren Moves and greater variability. Also, the injury-related retirement of the Left Wing Lippmann striker in the 34th minute, leaving no break in the flow of the game. On the other hand, the BFC players looked overwrought and cramped. The defender did not find any binding, the strikers were often positioned incorrectly. Only after half an hour the Master came in motion, driven by Thom reached the BFC a certain balance in the field, came to new chances. But in the 44th minute then came the check, sent by Kirsten could Döschner rights defenders in the 44th minute achieve the 1-0 lead for Dynamo Dresden with a remarkable hit.

In the mid-term break, the Dresden players were preparing mentally for the anticipated assault of the enemy, while in the BFC cab coach Bogs his team cheered again. First appeared Bogs words to have achieved the greater effect. Between the 46th and 49th minutes, his players had three chances to score 100 percent, and in 51 minutes the recent Berlin Thom was achieved with a spin - kick the expected compensation. The BFC stormed unabated, but was thereby vulnerable to counterattack. With 60 minutes resulted in a gross defensive errors to lead again for Dresden, who scored the conspicuously increased 19 -year-old Stübner with a powerful shot. For the preliminary decision in the 67th minute saw Dresden best player, Matthias Döschner. With a maßgerechten flank he put his center-forward scene in Minge, who took advantage of a slip up again BFC defense to make it 3-1. Although the Berlin tried to give the game more a turn, but it was only a hasty and disorderly gasp. Too late the first goal of Ernst came in the 88th minute.

Injury

The finale had a sequel at the German Football Association of the GDR. In a retrospective video analysis also confirmed objectively massive mistakes of the referee collective, especially against Dynamo Dresden. For example, a clear regular goal by Ralf Minge has been revoked for alleged offside position. An eight-member group of functionaries headed by the DFV - President Günter Erbach was: " The wrong decisions against Dynamo Dresden are a total of more severe ( high quality in a negative sense ), because they were like in the prolific space, and they can carry game-winning character ( non-recognition of a regular door from Minge ). ". Overall, the referees 17 gross errors were detected, 14 in favor of the BFC. As a consequence, the referee Manfred Roßner was initially suspended for the next league season. His linesman Klaus Scheurell was not considered for the next European Cup use on the line. Already in last year's final in 1983/84 it had come with the same game pairing to similar distortions game, which resulted in referee Wolfgang Henning was also blocked.
