1984–85 ice hockey Bundesliga season

The 1984/85 season of ice hockey league was the 27th season of the highest German Hockey League. German champion of SB Rosenheim, who not only won the double round but emerged also from all play-off games as the winner. The ten -time champions SC Riessersee made ​​it for the second time in a row to secure the league in the relegation while freshman EHC Essen-West had to go back after a year's league affiliation. Mode

Like two years before the final tournament was again held in the classic play-off mode. Instead of the group stage as last season a quarter final was played again, which was however the first time carried out according to the mode " Best of Five". On placement matches for places 5 to 8 was abandoned in the face of lack of audience response in previous years, entirely decisive for the final ranking was now the ranking in the double round.
