1984–85 UEFA Cup
The UEFA Cup 1984/85 was the 14th edition of the competition organized by UEFA. In the finals, the Spanish representative Real Madrid began after two finals by the Hungarian representatives against Videoton SC and won the trophy for the first time.
Trivia
Albanian clubs did not participate for political reasons. Ajax succeeded in the second leg of the first round against the Luxembourg Red Boys Differdange club with 14:0 biggest win without conceding a goal in European Cup history. The Partizan Belgrade succeeded in the 2nd round as the first team ever to make up a four - goal deficit from the first leg and move into the next round.
Mode
The competition was held in six rounds, in home and away matches. In Torgleichheit initially decided the number of away goals scored, then an extension and eventually the penalty shootout.
