1984 Norwegian First Division

The first Divisjon 1984 was the 40th season of Norway's highest football league and the 22nd season under the name 1 Divisjon. The regular season began on April 29, 1984 and ended on 14 October 1984.

Mode

The twelve teams played in a single round with round-trip game against each other so that each team completed 22 games. Master was the Leading after the last matchday. The last two teams had to dismount. The third last had in a relegation round against the two Second 2nd Divisjon (Group A and B).

Season

Vålerengens IF became the second consecutive Norwegian champion. It was the fourth title overall.

In the first round the other teams were still in touch with Vålerengens IF. But by a very good second half and the weaknesses of the competitors, the team took off and on. Already after 19 Matchday they were no longer obtain. The maximum margin of victory of eight points.

Play off

Moss FK was able to beat the competitor in the relegation and remained in the first Divisjon. This was the first time after the introduction of relegation matches in 1981 that the team prevailed from the top division.
