1985–86 FA Cup

The FA Cup 1985/86 was the 105th edition of the world's oldest football cup tournament; The Football Association Challenge Cup, or FA Cup shortly. The cup competition ended with the final at Wembley Stadium on May 10, 1986. The winner of this discharge was Liverpool. In the final they met in the Merseyside derby at city rivals Everton.

The FA Cup is played in rounds. Can participate, each team that has a given level of performance and has an adequate pitch. The game is played i.d.R. with only one leg. When draw a second leg takes place. Still has not decision are stated more replays; until a winning team is determined. Each winner receives a premium from the television money, which is staggered after round.

Main Round

First Main Round

The matches were played on the weekend of November 16 1985. The replays were held between the 17th and 25th of November.

Second Main Round

The games were played until December 9, 1985 on the weekend of the 7th. The replays were held on the 10th of the month.

Third main round

The games were completed on the weekend of the 4th January 1986. Necessary repetition games were scheduled for January 7 to 16.

Fourth Main Round

The games were held on 25 and 26 January 1986. The replays were required to be held February 6, on January 28.

Fifth Main Round

The meetings were held until March 5, 1986 on February 15. The four replays followed on March 3 to 9.

Sixth Main Round

The games were held until March 12, 1986 on the 8th. The two replays followed on 12 and 17 March.

Semifinal

The matches were played on 5 April 1986. The first semi-final between Liverpool and Southampton was played at White Hart Lane in London. The match between Everton and Sheffield took place at Villa Park in Birmingham.
