1985–86 ice hockey Bundesliga season

The season 1985 /86 Hockey league was the 28th season of the highest German Hockey League. German champion was the Cologne EC, the European Cup as a superior team of the season his fourth championship.

Also at the head of the German ice hockey returned to the Dusseldorf EC, it was beaten only in the finale the KEC and was runner-up. In the relegation of the ten -time champion SC Riessersee managed for the third time in a row, just barely in the league, while the novice SV Bayreuth had to descend again. The vacant place was the team of Eintracht Frankfurt as the winner of relegation.

As in previous years, the mode with a double round and subsequent championship play-offs, the best eight teams, while the two last placed athlete had to compete in a relegation round against the best teams in the 2nd Bundesliga, being held.
