1985 Norwegian First Division

The first Divisjon 1985 was the 41st season of Norway's highest football league and the 23rd season under the name 1 Divisjon. The regular season began on April 27, 1985 and ended on 12 October 1985.

Mode

The twelve teams played in a simple game with round return match against each other so that each team completed 22 games. Master was the Leading after the last matchday. The last two teams had to dismount. The third last had in a relegation round against the two Second 2nd Divisjon (Group A and B).

Season

Rosenborg BK was the fourth time Norwegian champion.

In the first round there was a duel between Rosenborg BK and Lillestrøm SK. The other teams could not intervene. At the beginning of the second half to Lillestrøm put down ever further, Rosenborg lined up one under the other pursuers. After 13 games the margin of victory of five points. But since Rosenborg won all of 17 games to 21 Matchday, it came on the final day for the all-important match between Rosenborg and Lillestrøm. Since the latter had one-point lead, gave them quite a draw. However, Rosenborg won this game and decided the championship.

Of the climbers Brann Bergen and Mjøndalen IF only Mjøndalen could hold the class.

Play off

Unlike last year, Moss FK could not prevail in the relegation against the competitors and dismounted in the second Divisjon. Tromsø IL rose in the first Divisjon for the first time.
