1985 World Badminton Grand Prix
The final of the World Badminton Grand Prix 1985 was held from December 12 to 15 in Tokyo, Japan, instead. It was the final competition of the Grand Prix series last season, and the third edition of the World Badminton Grand Prix ever. The prize money was the equivalent of 87,900 U.S. dollars. In the first three events of the WBGP 1983-1985 only the men's singles and women's singles were played in contrast to the later tournaments. As of 1987, the three double disciplines men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles were added.
It won Han Jian in the men's and Li Lingwei with the ladies, both starting for China.
