1986–87 Czechoslovak Extraliga season
The season 1986/87 1st League was the 44th regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. In the playoff finals Tesla Pardubice sat 3-2 victories against Dukla Jihlava through. For the team it was their total second Czechoslovak championship. Poldi Kladno SONP increased after one year Zweitklassigekeit again in the first league, while the TJ Vítovice descent as Table the relegation round in the second division.

Mode
As in the previous season the league was played with twelve teams. The total number of matches per team was 34 games in the main round. Subsequently, the top eight teams qualified for the playoffs and played there the masters from. The remaining four teams played in four games against each other in a relegation round, and the last of this round table was relegated directly into the national championship.
