1986–87 Divizia A
The Divizia A 1986/87 was the 49th season in the history of Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on August 17, 1986 and ended on 30 June 1987. From mid-December to early March rested the game operation ( winter break ). Champion for the third time in a row Steaua Bucharest.

The Divizia A played with 18 teams. The three last-place teams were relegated in the Divizia B. For a victory, there were two points for a draw and one point for a loss no points.
