1986 Gulf Cup of Nations
The eighth edition of the Gulf Cup was held from 19 March to 4 April 1986 in the Bahraini capital Manama instead. Kuwait won his sixth of ten titles so far.

The seven teams were all against each other, the team with the most points won the tournament, should after six games between the two teams reign of equality, had to find the winner of a play-off. Direct comparison and goal difference did not apply.
