1986 NHL Entry Draft

The NHL Entry Draft in 1986, the annual talent contraction of the National Hockey League, took place on 21 June 1986 at the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Canada, in the province of Quebec held after Toronto was the first time been the venue for the contraction in the previous year.

In the same year the NHL Supplemental Draft was held for the first time, in which the teams also failed to undertake approved for the Entry Draft college players.

A total of 252 players were taken in twelve rounds. The draft was poor to great talents as last year. Vincent Damphousse, Brian Leetch and Adam Graves were the players, who, in contrast to many other well-developed. Joe Murphy and Jimmy Carson also had their good phase, but at no time were the stars of the league. New Jersey's Neil Brady was the only player who was selected in the 1980s as one of the first three and no obligation 100 games played in the NHL. Vancouver's Dan Woodley was only used five times in the NHL, which was offered in the 1980s by only one other top -10 pick.
