1986 World Series

The World Series 1986 was the 83rd edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. There were the champions of the American League, the Boston Red Sox, and the champion of the National League, the New York Mets, opposite. The best-of- seven series started on 18 October and ended on 27 October 1986 and went the full number of games.

The Mets were the series 4-3 games to decide for themselves, and so win the second and so far last World Series title in franchise history.

As MVP of the series of the New York infielder Ray Knight was excellent.

Game 6 went down in baseball history because of its dramatic end. After the Red Sox lead in the 11th inning with a 5-3 and the Mets had already wrested two outs, they needed only one out to first final since winning the World Series in 1918. Pitcher Calvin Schiraldi However afforded three consecutive hits, so that the Mets came up with 5:4 zoom and Boston coach John McNamara for Schiraldi his replacement Bob Stanley einwechselte.
