1986 World Wrestling Championships

The Wrestling World Championships 1986 were held until October 26, 1986 in Budapest on 19. It was fought in both the Greco-Roman and free style. The wrestlers were divided into ten weight classes. Apart from the competitions for men a demonstration tournament for women was held. The experiment led to the introduction of the women's world championships a year later.

Greco-Roman

The competitions in the Greco-Roman style were held until October 26, 1986 by 23. In the final of the -82 kg class were disqualified after 4:58 minutes fighting time Bogdan Daras from Poland and Tibor Komáromi from Hungary, as two did not succeed in scoring. Both initially received silver. 1987 revised the FILA this decision, after which both wrestlers were declared World Champions.

Freestyle

The competitions in freestyle took place between 22 October 1986 19. From the Soviet wrestlers who had gone to the start, only -52 kg missed Vladimir Togusow than sixth -placed in the weight class a medal rank.
