1987â€“88 Czechoslovak Extraliga season
The season 1987/88 1st League was the 45th regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. In the playoff finals, the VSZ Kosice sat 3-1 victories against Sparta by CKD Prague. For the team it was their total second Czechoslovak championship. Zetor Brno rose as Table from the relegation round in the second division, while the TJ Vítovice made the direct re-emergence after a year Zweitklassigekeit.

As in the previous season the league was played with twelve teams. The total number of matches per team was 34 games in the main round. Subsequently, the top eight teams qualified for the playoffs and played there the masters from. The remaining four teams played in four games against each other in a relegation round, and descend the table last of these had directly into the national championship.
Best scorer of the league was Vladimír Růžička of Dukla Trenčín, who together scored a total of 38 goals in main round and playoffs.

The winners of the Czech and Slovak League second group occurred in a best - of-five series against each other for the promotion to the 1st League for the following season. Here, the Czech representative TJ Vitkovice prevailed.
