1987–88 Nationalliga A season

In the National League A is the HC Lugano in the play-off final against EHC Kloten Swiss Champion in the 1987/88 season. In the National League B of the SC Langnau and the HC Sierre dismounted. From the National League B of HC Ajoie and EHC Olten managed the climb, the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds and EHC Basel dismounted in the first league.

Mode

After the qualifying round, to attend the 10 teams, the top four teams play the Swiss Cup from the play- offs. The teams ranked 9 and 10 of the qualifying round to rise without relegation round of the National League B.
