1988 AFC Asian Cup
The 9th Asian Cup took place in the period from 2 to December 18, 1988 in Qatar. The largest Asian football tournament is carried out since 1956 by the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC).
Defending Saudi Arabia won the final against South Korea. Best scorer of the tournament was Lee Tae- ho ( South Korea) with three goals.
Venues were the Al -Ahly Stadium and the Qatar SC Stadium, both in the capital, Doha.
