1988 World Rowing Championships

The World Rowing Championships 1988 were held on the lake Idroscalo in Milan, Italy, under the rules of the International Rowing Federation ( FISA ). The 14 Olympic boat classes were not extended in 1988 due to the Olympic rowing regatta in Seoul, so the rowing world champions were determined in only seven non-Olympic lightweight boat classes. The finals were held on August 6, 1988.


Here are the medal winners from the A- finals are listed. These were filled with six boats that had to qualify through pre-and hope runs and semi-finals for the finals. The track length was 2000 meters in all runs.
