1989–90 DFB-Pokal
DFB Cup winner in 1990 was the first FC Kaiserslautern.
In this season's first knockout round were held on 9 November 1989. Later in the evening the Berlin Wall was opened in Berlin. Due to the live broadcast of the match Stuttgart -Bayern and the subsequent summary of the match Kaiserslautern Cologne, the issues of the day, so Hanns Joachim Friedrichs forwarded the assessment in this show as the first newscaster late, there prevailed complete freedom to travel: " The gates of the wall are wide open. The cup final at the Olympiastadion Berlin has been linked with a ceremony to be held on 3 October 1990 reunification. Kaiserslautern scored in the final against Bremen three goals in the first half hour. In the second half, Werder Bremen urged a result of improvement, according to two goals but no longer equalized. In the European Cup Winners Kaiserslautern difference in his first participation already in the first round against defending champion Sampdoria, but was able to win in the Bundesliga championship.
