1989–90 Divizia A

The Divizia A 1989/90 was the 52nd season in the history of Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on 23 August 1989 and ended on June 7, 1990. Between mid- December to end of February rested the game operation ( winter break ). Champion Dinamo Bucharest.

Regulate

The Divizia A played with 18 teams. The three last-place teams were relegated in the Divizia B. For a victory, there were two points for a draw and one point for a loss no points.

Course

After the fall of the communist government of Romania at the turn of 1989/90 FC Olt Scorniceşti from the birthplace of Nicolae Ceauşescu and AS Victoria Bucharest has been ruled out as a football club in the Bucharest police for rule violations in recent years. All games of the season counted as lost with 0:3.

On September 9, 1989 Steaua Bucharest since June 18, 1986 ( at Universitatea Craiova 4:5 ) lost with 0-3 against Dinamo Bucharest for the first time a game in Divizia A and ending a series of 104 unbeaten games in a row. The series of 63 unbeaten away matches only ended on April 18, 1990 against Universitatea Craiova.
