1989–90 Football League Cup

The League Cup 1989/90 was the 30th edition of the existing since 1960 English League Cup.

The competition started on 21 August 1989 with the First Round and ended on 29 April 1990 with the final at Wembley. The title was awarded to the defending champions Nottingham Forest with a 1-0 victory in the finals over second division side Oldham Athletic. Nottingham won the League Cup for the fourth time after 1978, 1979 and 1989. This was previously only Liverpool succeeded ( 1981-84 ).
