1989–90 Football League First Division

The Football League First Division in 1989/90 was the 91st season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league. It began on 19 August 1989 and ended on May 5, 1990. Was nine points behind Aston Villa to Liverpool FC won its 18th championship by now. The runners-up Tottenham Hotspur landed defending champions Arsenal. All team FC Chelsea, Manchester City and Crystal Palace were able to get the class, instead rose Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and Millwall FC in the Second Division from. These should be replaced the following season by the second division promoted Leeds United, Sheffield United and Sunderland AFC.

A total of 458 players were used, with the Everton 19 the least and Manchester City with 28 mustered the most players in league games. 92 newcomers were offset by 82 footballers who most recently came into play in the 1989/90 season.
