1989 Norwegian First Division

The first Divisjon 1989 was the 45th season of the highest Norwegian Football League and the 27th season under the name 1 Divisjon. The season began on April 29, 1989 and ended on October 8, 1989.

Mode

Twelve teams played in the league in a simple round-trip round against each other, so that each team completed 22 games. The tenth -place and prevent third last had to do to avoid relegation play-offs in addition to the two runners- 2 Divisjon (Group A and B).

Season

Lillestrøm SK was the fifth time champion. The promoted FK Mjølner was in contrast to the other climber Viking Stavanger the class does not hold and rose again. The cup competition was won by Viking Stavanger.
