The Virginia Slims of Florida was a WTA hard court tennis tournament for women in Boca Raton in 1989. It was a tournament of the Tier II category of the WTA Tour in 1989 and was held from 13 to 19 March 1989.

In individual Steffi Graf won against Chris Evert 4-6, 6-2 and 6-3. In doubles, the pair Jana Novotná / Helena Suková won 6-4, 6-2 against Jo Durie / Mary Joe Fernández.
