1990–91 IHL season

The season 1990/91 was the 46th regular season of the International Hockey League. During the regular season, the eleven teams should each 82 games contest, but the game plan due to the premature withdrawal of the financial Albany Choppers had to be changed. In the play-offs, the Peoria Rivermen prevailed and won the second Turner Cup in their history.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Flint Spirits stopped the game operation.
  • The Albany Choppers were added as an expansion team in the league, but presented due to financial problems even during the current season, the game operation again.
  • The Kansas City Blades were added as an expansion team in the league.
  • The San Diego Gulls were added as an expansion team in the league.
