1990–91 Nationalliga A season

The season 1990/91 was the 53rd regular season of the National League A.

Mode

Were played by the ten teams first two double rounds of 18 games in which the eight participants were determined for the playoffs. The last two teams in the qualification round in a relegation round about ten games against the top four teams in the National League B. The two winners of the relegation round play in the next season in the National League A.
