1990 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 21st European Athletics Indoor Championships were held from March 3 to 4, 1990 in the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena in Glasgow instead.
For the first time the triple jump was fought out with the women. The GDR and the Soviet Union competed at the Indoor Athletics Championships for the last time. Moreover, after this event the cycle was extended from one year to two years.
The most successful athletes with two gold medals were the German sprinter Ulrike Sarvari and Soviet long and triple jumper Galina Tschistjakowa. The Nations Cup was dominated with 16 medals, including nine gold, from the Soviet Union.
