1991 Canada Cup

The Canada Cup 1991 ( French Coupe Canada 1991) was the fifth edition of the competition of the same name. He was held in North American cities Chicago, Detroit, Hamilton, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Quebec, Saskatoon and Toronto from August 31 to September 16, 1991. The International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF, the North American professional league National Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey Association Canadian Hockey Association supported the competition.

At the fifth edition of the competition participated in six teams. With the fall of the Iron Curtain and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the competition clearly lost prestige. Canada won the tournament by two wins in the final series against the United States. The best scorer of the tournament was Canadian Wayne Gretzky with four goals and twelve points. Mode

The six teams played in the first round in a single round, the rankings from, so each team played five games. For a victory, there were two points with a tie, both teams received one point each. The four best teams in the point group of six qualified for the semifinals.
