1991 FA Cup Final
The FA Cup 1990/91 was the 110th edition of the competition. Titleholder was Manchester United, who had defeated in the previous year Crystal Palace. Nottingham Forest had the FA Cup last won in 1959, the Tottenham Hotspur picked up the coveted trophy last 1982 final against Queens Park Rangers.
All teams in the first and second English League rise from the 3rd round in the competition. Followed each per round qualifying matches. Ends the game after regular time in a draw, a replay will take place in which the venue is changed. During another draw another game is needed.
The team of Nottingham Forest was therefore forced into the 3rd round unsubscribe three games against Crystal Palace, before the collection was achieved in the 4th round.
The two semi-final matches will each place on neutral ground, so the match between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United were held at Villa Park and the game Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal at Wembley.
The final took place on 18 May 1991 at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 spectators instead. The team of Nottingham Forest went early with a free kick from Stuart Pearce in the lead. The kick was a foul by Paul Gascoigne preceded in which this so badly injured that he had to be replaced after the free-kick. Gascoigne retired to a torn ACL and missed due to this breach even a year later held the European Football Championship 1992. The England striker Gary Lineker failed even in the first half at one, committed against himself, the penalty to goalkeeper Mark Crossley. For Tottenham in the second half by Paul Stewart equalized before an own goal by Des Walker in extra time brought the decision for Tottenham Hotspur.
