1991 Pan American Games

The XI. Pan American Games were held in the Cuban capital Havana from 2 to 18 August 1991. Havana was named as the host, after the city in the bid to host the 1987 Pan American Games Indianapolis was inferior.

4519 athletes from 39 countries competed in 32 sports for medals. For the first time bowling was in the game program. Successful nation was host Cuba with 140 gold medals. The United States won a total of 352 medals, more than any other nation.
